Grade 3 Curriculum
Tutoring in Grade 3 Math, Language, and Science in alignment with the Ontario curriculum guidelines.
Number Sense:
Understanding numbers up to 1,000, mastering addition and subtraction with larger numbers, beginning multiplication (up to 7x7), and division (basic facts).
Algebra:
Continuing pattern recognition, solving problems involving equality and simple equations.
Geometry and Spatial Sense: Identifying, comparing, and constructing 2D shapes and 3D objects, learning about angles, and symmetry.
Measurement:
Measuring length, mass, and capacity using standard units, telling time to the nearest minute, and solving problems involving money (adding and subtracting amounts up to $10).
Data:
Collecting, organizing, and interpreting data using bar graphs, line plots, and tables. Introduction to probability concepts.

Writing longer paragraphs and short essays with clear structure, correct grammar, and expanded vocabulary.

Understanding Life Systems: Investigating plant growth and changes, parts of plants, their needs, and the importance of plants to ecosystems.
Understanding Matter and Energy: Exploring forces and motion, identifying different types of forces (pushes, pulls), and understanding how forces affect movement.
Understanding Earth and Space Systems:
Studying soils in the environment, types of soil, and their roles in plant growth and ecosystems.
