Tutoring in Grade 8 Math, Language, and Science in alignment with the Ontario curriculum guidelines.

    1. Extending understanding of fractions, decimals, and percents, including operations with these numbers and solving related problems.

    2. Introduction to algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities. Simplifying expressions and solving simple linear equations.

    3. Working with ratios, rates, and proportions, including solving problems involving proportional relationships.

  • Measurement

    1. Applying measurements to real-world problems, including calculations involving area, volume, and surface area of various shapes.

    2. Converting between different units of measurement, including both metric and imperial systems.

  • Geometry

    1. Analyzing properties of geometric shapes, including angles, polygons, and circles, and working with 3D shapes such as prisms and pyramids.

    2. Plotting and analyzing points on a coordinate plane, understanding the distance formula, and finding midpoints.

  • Data Management and Probability

    1. Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data using graphs, charts, and measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode).

    2. Understanding and calculating probabilities of single and multiple events, including simple experiments and simulations.

    Studying the structure and function of cells, including plant and animal cells, and understanding how cells contribute to the functions of tissues and organs.

  • Understanding Structures and Mechanisms

    Exploring mechanical systems, including levers, pulleys, and gears, and understanding how these systems use forces to perform tasks.

  • Understanding Matter and Energy

    1. Learning about the properties and changes of matter, including elements, compounds, and chemical reactions.

    2. Understanding different forms of energy and how energy is transferred and transformed in various systems.

  • Understanding Earth and Space Systems

    1. Studying natural resources, including renewable and non-renewable resources, and understanding their management and conservation.

    2. Exploring concepts related to the solar system, including planetary motion, gravity, and space exploration missions.
